Allow me to introduce myself.
My journey began in the fascinating world of psychology & counseling. For four years, I helped over 100 families overcome challenges and uncover their inner strengths. I found joy in building deep connections, witnessing tears turn into triumphs, and helping people embrace their uniqueness.
However, as my passion for creating impact grew, I realized that I wanted more. This led me to pivot my career to UX research & design - a field where I could make broader impacts in a fast-paced environment. My background in therapy naturally transferred to my skills in active listening, understanding needs, and translating them into meaningful, user-centered design solutions.
Beyond work, I find joy in dancing, drawing, and sharing life with my cat and dog, embracing the simple, sensory moments that connect me to the beauty of the world.
What being a therapist taught me…
Asking the right questions for unbiased insights: Being a therapist taught me how to probe deeper and create a safe space for sharing honest thoughts. This skill translates into uncovering unbiased insights in UX research.
Problem-solving in fast-paced situations: As a therapist, I had to deal with emergencies on a daily basis, requiring quick, responsible decision-making. This sharpened my ability to evaluate available resources and make decisions under pressure with minimal risks.
Building rapport across diverse groups: Working with a range of clients - from parents to adolescents to inmates across the world - helped me master trust building and tailoring solutions to diverse needs.
Mastering organization and planning: I was the case managers of over 100 clients, which demanded careful coordination and detailed management. This refined my organizational skills and attention to detail.
